What happened
On January 20, 2025, Amy's life was profoundly disrupted when a devastating fire engulfed her vehicles on the carport, burning a storage building and spreading to the home. Unfortunately, the house was very badly damaged and is completely unlivable. At 61 years old and on disability, Amy has very limited means and income.
Thankfully, there was no loss of life, pets, or major injuries. However, the blaze resulted in the near-total loss of her residence and vehicle, leaving her without shelter and with many essential belongings damaged. There was minimal insurance, only covering one of the vehicles and some of the contents of the home - the structure was NOT covered.
Amy now faces the monumental task of rebuilding her life from the ground up. We are collecting funds to cover replacing damaged items, buying food, replacing tools, covering medical bills for herself and her pet pugs, to buy cleaning items for salvaging contents, and either rebuilding her home or purchasing a mobile home that she can live in on the same property.
How You Can Help
Her son Rocky (myself) and brother-in-law are rallying support by collecting funds to help assist Amy in covering the costs. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will play a pivotal role in helping Amy navigate this challenging period.
Beginning in 2006, Amy dedicated many years to personally building her barndominium home, often traveling long distances to pick up materials and undertaking much of the work herself. It was a huge project for many years and now unfortunately it begins again as the fire, smoke soot, water from the fire fighting, and large parts of the walls were torn open to extinguish the blaze.
I have included images and videos below as proof to assure you that your donation will directly address costs associated with the fire.
Thank you!
